MUSIC FESTIVAL: Bayou n' Boogie Fest to bring hot Cajun and Zydeco music to Southeastern Massachusetts May 29-30

CJ Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band and Jeffery Broussard & the Creole Cowboys will headline the 4th annual Bayou n’ Boogie Festival on Memorial Day weekend, May 29 and 30, 2010, at the 30-acre Francis Farm, at 27 Francis Farm Road, Rehoboth, Massachusetts.

The festival, which offers a top-notch mix of Cajun, Zydeco, blues and roots music, had been held in Rhode Island in the past. Other bands scheduled include Little Freddie King, Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic, Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band, Al Berard’s Cajun Hobos, Skiffle Minstrels, New England’s own Magnolia Cajun Band and many more.

The festival includes dance and music workshops, late night jams. There will be a covered dance pavilion plus indoor and outdoor stages for continuous music. Dance instruction includes both beginner and advanced Cajun and Zydeco with instructors from Boston and New York.

Francis Farm will be offering Cajun and Creole delicacies, along with a New England style clambake. A wide variety of merchant vendors will be available.

The festival will be held from noon-11 p.m. Saturday, May 29 and from noon-10 p.m. Sunday, May 30. Tickets are $35 per day in advance, $65 in advance for both days. For more pricing information, visit the web site or for more information, call 401-965-0849.
